@romly2023 It might better to just accept English ability to steal words for concepts it doesn't have and go with it instead of butchering it trying to translate the untranslatable. I mean English is already 80% loanwords whats a few more.

@romly2023 Tsundere is basically a loanword in English at this point. Honorifics while not actually part of English are still understood by most viewers. There is a lot of Japanese only concepts that have leaked over to English anime audiences that its safer to not localize everything.

@zkurishi I like Japanese stuff because its Japanese and it's a new or different experience and lets me learn more of Japanese culture, localization removes what makes Japanese products products Japanese and interesting. Ever worse when they change it completely and insert their own stuff

I think Japanese companies should be more careful about localization issues for anime, manga, games, and other media. They need to ensure that the appeal of Japanese content is properly conveyed to the world, and that the platforms that guarantee this are also important.

@so57238440 @odionwere_ @yashi09 Even if you live out of state if you travel to California its first 8 normal time 8-12 is OT and DT for anything past 12 in alone day. If you work 7 consecutive days than final day is all overtime unless past 40 that week then its double time.

@so57238440 @odionwere_ @yashi09 1.5x is federal standard, Some states have higher like California but thier rules are complex and doing a timecard in that state is ridiculous. Also several companies have thier own double time policies, the 2x I got past 60 was a corporate policy.

@so57238440 @odionwere_ @yashi09 I had a job a few years ago where we when we traveled we worked 12 hour shifts for 7 days a week. Anything after 40 was overtime and past 60 was double time. So we got paid 118 hours of pay for 84 hours of work. Alot of my friends were traveling wielders for that reason.

@odionwere_ @yashi09 I can confirm, I work overtime almost every week. We get 1.5x pay for anything past 40 hours and some places even do 2x pay for excessive overtime. So companies really only do it if its actually needed since it costs them and people are happy to do it for extra pay.

@RX_9999_2 Also it would cut out the middlemen which is the biggest issue in the US. Trying to watch anime is its scattered all over the place and all the services then shoved with ads. I just want pay for it open in my video player of choice and load decent subtitles to it.
