@julesneonfawkes @MayahCamara definitely not dead, though i have my concerns about it losing some of it's originality and identity due to the fact that it got big enough (quality vs quantity and all that). but it's a looong conversation and twitter isn't the place for that...

@MayahCamara Synthwave is undead, and will always be. These hot topics about synthwave always pop up twice a year. Usually initiated by a "has been" artist who can longer keep up and feels overwhelmed and lost and who posts an edgy line to garner attention. I just keep calm and synth on.

Seems like this conversation is still in full swing so answer this, if Synthwave is dead why all of a sudden are so many mainstream artists jumping on board the train?

Ok mini rant, I’m seriously getting sick of people saying Synthwave is dead! No it isn’t! It may have seen some changes, especially since Covid and some acts release material less often or have gone in other directions but that in no way means the genre is dead!
