This argument attempts to dismiss fine tuning by saying, “well of course there’s fine tuning, if there wasn’t we wouldn’t be here to wonder about it.” The problem with this response is that it explains nothing, the question is “what explains this fine tuning?” The anthropic principle just changes the subject to something we already knew (without these constants we wouldn’t be here) and offers zero explanation for **why** the constants are the way they are.
