@AirShenner @BreidenFehoko My favorite was a national reporter coming on a local radio station claiming that Tom Coughlin was going to step down as the PFO and coach the Jaguars. Got very angry when questioned it was pretty funny.

I think the Jags should really make a push to get Dexter Lawrence. A guy like that would completely change this defensive line. Not only with his production but the attention he will take away from Travon and JHA.

ESPN sources: Giants All-Pro defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence has requested a trade and he will not be participating in the team’s off-season workout program that opens Tuesday. Lawrence and the Giants have been through two off seasons attempting to negotiate a contract reflecting his value to the Giants over the last three years, but there has not been any progress, per sources.

@JagsPulse @jordandelugo Flip side is he overspent pretty big when you factor all the contracts and dead money together. Had hits and misses. Blame some on Baalke and a little on him. I like that we’re not spending again this year, but don’t wanna give up great players.

He has earned that from me personally. He made moves last year that made a big difference. And you aren’t replacing last years production because they think that was an outlier, so you are replacing what he will do in the future. I’m just not in the group to freak out over free agency I guess.

Trust has to be earned, and coaching should get much of the credit for the first year. Gladstone has also had some really good moves, but also some that are questionable. Too early to say. He could definitely find a replacement, but it’s very unlikely they get that level of impact to where it affects the win column in 2026.

@jordandelugo Could also argue it’s an opportunity for great value when a position is underpaid. Linebacker hasn’t exploded like similarly paid positions a few years ago have, so if you have a great player, it’s probably smart to retain them.

Cornerback Montaric “Buster” Brown is staying in Jacksonville on a three-year, $33 million deal, per @JFowlerESPN and me. The 2022 7th-round pick would have had a strong market in free agency, but didn’t to want to leave Jacksonville. Deal negotiated by his agency Milk & Honey Sports.
