Well, today’s shift didn’t quite end as usual. Beginning with a Lichfield & followed by a Lich/Broms - I should have finished up with a Wolves/Walsall. However on the return back from Bromsgrove I had a signal go back on me to its most restrictive. I threw the brake in fully, but the TPWS grids also activated for an overspeed towards a Red (incidentally the signal is just off a curve so sighting is poor) . Safe to say I was a bit shook up. You question yourself. Communications had, reports written & the last bit of my job covered. #DayInTheLife#TrainDriver
What an obnoxious arse this guy is. I see the supposed #railwayfamily doesn't always stretch all over the railway.
@shellienic shared a genuine insight into her job that many of us enjoy to read & I hope she continues to do so!
"JT" just proves my point about blue ticks 🚫
For many years now I've been pestering the railway industry that the platform clocks are wrong at Tech' Park. Not quite the solution I was expecting but here we are.
@JakeOnRailways Unfortunately wasn't old enough to be there during the GNER era, best I have are the IC225s in their current state!
(All at Doncaster because of course 😅)
I'm working on a video about the ORR Report of the Hatfield Derailment (2000).
If anyone had any videos/pics of IC225s/the ECML, especially of the GNER era, I would like to ask if I could use them in the video? (With credit in the video & description as always.)
Thank you!
Today we welcomed society members to Litchurch Lane. They enjoyed a tour of some of @AlstomUK’s train manufacturing facilities, and of course, a visit to 507001 complete with simulator. A thorough enjoyable day for all involved!
Had a great visit to Derby today for the preservation society members’ 507 open day. Great to see the unit with the batteries on and great to see other cool artefacts in and around the unit.
Thanks to the team at @class_507! 😁
Had a great overnight stay in London, made it back home not too long ago.
Of course had to get some train and underground rides, including finally seeing 465908! 😁
But the purpose of the trip was a more musical one; with us seeing Muse at Brixton O2 Academy last night. 🤩
Morning from Liverpool! I’m off on quite the adventure today, of which I didn’t know I was even going until yesterday evening. Let’s see where we end up! 😁
I apologise that the only picture I have is of the lights being in emergency mode, forgot the outside pic! 😂
@trainfanmatt I sometimes go to Rainford station just to see them in action, hardest bit is trying to work out when I should start filming as I can never tell when the signaller will change it. 🤣
After some delay I've finally made it to Crewe. 🥳
Just spotted 175109 stabled on Platform 8, not too sure how much longer these trains have left with TfW until they go off lease...
Oh, and I forgot to mention earlier: April Fools. 😁
Due to the Avanti service to London being delayed by about 10 minutes, I've had a bit of an extended wait at Runcorn this morning. (Not like I don't mind even more trains.) 😂
Upside is I get to see 153910/333 on a Chester run before my train to Crewe arrives on that platform.
Had a good chunk of time at Edge Hill before catching a Northern Sprinter one more stop to Mossely Hill where I had another wait to see some fast trains fly by. 😁
350262 has arrived to take me all the way to Runcorn for my final change for Crewe with Avanti!
Made it to Liverpool Lime Street!
Had the chance to go on 350104 which was ready for its run to Birmingham, but I figured I could tick off some more trains and stations with 319385 on a run to Wigan, I'll only be taking it one stop to Edge Hill though. 😁
