Whose idea was DARE? Was there no regional planning? A cop really told my Carhart-wearing 5th grade class that angel dust is the street name for PCP. Sir. The year is 1996. No one in the COUNTY has ever seen an avocado. We do not have the logistics to obtain angel dust.

What are your rejection letter red flags? Are there any responses you've received to a submission that have made you never want to submit to that journal again?

@mosspuppymag I had a Garamond phase, then Cambria, and now Ebrima. I change fonts with every major revision to help me see the story in a fresh way.

You know what I love? When people joke about obviously spoiled and well-cared-for dogs and cats to say stuff like, "He has never been fed a day in his life." or "No one pays her any attention, just look at her." It's my favorite. I love it. Do it more.

@MoonlightSoldi2 I usually get my best solutions while brushing my teeth before bed. That's when it all clicks and I know how to logically get characters to go where I want.

#WritingCommunity How do you like to tackle your writing, how does it feel solving a plot point? For me, it's like a puzzle. I have pieces, but they need to be adjusted, shaped to fit naturally, not forced. If they feel forced everything feels off. Kind of in that dilemma atm.
