Claiming Maradona is better than Ronaldo is like claiming Berbatov is better than Haaland. Effectiveness and numbers matter more than aesthetics, there comes a point when the numbers are so far superior that you become the better player because that’s what the sport is about, that’s how you win

That’s where they got their reputation from. And yes, being an ex-Arsenal player helped, but it’s not the same situation as Carrick.
If Carrick wasn’t an ex-United player, but an ex-Everton player with the same CV, he would have never gotten the job.

I’m optimistic, however I do believe Carrick’s appointment has a ceiling.
We’re battling against Arsenal (Arteta), Liverpool (Iraola), Spurs (RDZ), Xabi (Chelsea), City (Post-Pep with new ideas)
We’re the only club that went the ex-player route, because we don’t want a manager with too much power.
Time will tell, but I highly doubt Carrick’s appointment is ambitious enough for where the club should be.

This João Neves/Cristiano Ronaldo bullshit the perfect example of a Social Media-fuelled blown-up nothing story. Neves did not disrespect Ronaldo in any way, shape or form. Whoever thinks he did doesn't understand what he said, doesn't have first idea about Neves' personality.

This whole Ronaldo thing is being blown way out of proportion it's insane. Portugal's issues vs Congo were so clearly with the midfield and the lack of risk, Ronaldo was the absolute least of their worries. That midfield 3 playing rondo's in the center circle is the main issue

This is so lazy. In the Premier League he had Casemiro & Mainoo who’s job is simply to give the ball to Bruno. And even in Amorim’s system every attack went through him. Also better attackers to create for.
Against Congo, every build-up went through Vitinha & Bernardo/Neto were shit.

João Neves hate is so unnecessary. He simply gave Ronaldo his respect, and gave a media trained answer about Ronaldo being focussed on the collective (Just like any other player in the team) & not on his stardom.
The hate he’s getting is absolutely vile & disgusting.

The World Cup is going on but the entire world is just talking about Cristiano Ronaldo. NEVER be another player like him in my life time. The obsession is still strong after 20 years. The fact he still wants to deal with all this negativity is shocking, guy is mentally insane.
