The “extremists don’t represent Islam” argument misses the real debate. The question is whether extremists can point to Islamic scriptures, traditions, and Muhammad’s own example to justify what they do. Many of them believe they’re following Islam more literally than the Muslims who condemn them.

That is normal throughout history men accumulate wealth by creating a big family. Having plenty wives was one of those days. Islam came and made it 4. Before DNA If a man has children with 10 women all children will know their father and mother. If a woman has children with plenty men all the children will know their mother but not their fathers.

“Marry the women of your choice, two, three, or four.” (Quran 4:3) A man is allowed to have up to four wives, but a woman having multiple husbands? Absolutely forbidden. This is Islam’s idea of equality. Multiple wives for men, multiple sexual partners made lawful for men, and special privileges for men. Women, on the other hand, are expected to spend their lives under the authority of a single man. If a woman speaks out against this system, she is often labeled rebellious, disobedient, or deserving of punishment. This is not equality. It is patriarchal domination. In the name of religion, women have been reduced to the marital and sexual property of men. Until women speak out against this unequal system, true liberation will remain out of reach.
