The change was part of the reconstruction following the civil war. It was 100% intended to ensure former slaves & their children would be American citizens.

This country is falling apart because REPUBLICANS CANNOT GOVERN! The senate sent a bill over so that hopefully everyone’s Easter would be more delightful… TSA workers & travelers alike. We are about to go in and vote… not on that bill, but a different one… if it passes, TSA will still be without PAY 🤦🏾♀️ as the Congress goes out for 2 WEEKS!
