🚨Cape Town: Members of Operation Dudula found themselves outnumbered and surrounded by a large group of "illegal" foreign business owners in the Town Centre of Mitchell's Plain, Cape Town. This central business area, developed in the 1970s, was traditionally operated entirely by local residents for many decades. Once considered one of the safest shopping centers in the Cape Flats, it supported the communities of Khayelitsha, Mitchell's Plain, Philippi, and other nearby townships. However, it is reported that today, local business owners make up less than 10% of the area. The environment has deteriorated, with drugs being openly sold. Members of Operation Dudula visited the area but were quickly surrounded and pushed out by a large group of "illegal" foreigners who claimed the area belonged to them.

Lesotho 🇱🇸 wants to renegotiate its water deal with South Africa 🇿🇦 . Through the Lesotho Highlands Water Project, water flows from Lesotho to Gauteng, including Johannesburg. Right now, Lesotho earns about $200 million a year, around 10% of its economy. But the deal was signed in 1986, and Lesotho says it’s outdated. They now want higher royalties and better compensation. Talks are expected to begin in April 2026.
