Pleasantly surprised that he addressed it. A broad statement like that is always easier than taking a stand when it's someone you know, but it's a start. Think there's an opportunity for the club to build on this moment and, for example, do some educational community work.

" With regard to our statement on Roberto De Zerbi’s appointment, prior to the announcement, we were contacted by a number of members and supporters who asked us to raise their concerns with the Club. We took this, along with our reflections on how the Club's values and our Five Principles of Ownership were being upheld by the Club, into our decision-making. The Board determined they were not. Our aim was to challenge the Club and the newly appointed manager in a way that would clarify their position. We felt, based on the feedback we were receiving, that this was vital to ensure the fan base would feel heard, which, in turn, would enable us to all focus on supporting the team and the new manager in the final games of the season. We hope the Club will do so quickly. We appreciate all the support and constructive criticism we have received in this instance and will consider and reflect on the opinions of our members and other Spurs fans at our next meeting. This will include assessing mechanisms to take the pulse of our members' views at speed. More information to follow.
