Feeling immense gratitude for the past 3 years, following a passion, igniting a spark in others and supporting them on their individual journeys. Solutions to global challenges seem closer when our classrooms are language-ing and developing cultural understanding + empathy in CYP

A wonderful introduction to the 24/25 #SLLP cohort as we met with Team @SheenaSCILT and heard about everyone's diverse roles and experience. What came through strongly is a real commitment to personal development and to ensuring excellent equitable experiences for learners

Languages aren't inherently difficult. They're new ways of engaging with the world. Whether you're travelling, relating to other people or training your brain, languages benefit us all. You don't need to be a linguist. Plus, learning a language gives you an edge across the board.

20+ yrs ago, local schools worked creatively to offer a wider curriculum and I 'crashed' Higher Spanish, building my lang repertoire. Now, after 10 days in Panama, reflecting on how knowledge of another lang and people opens doors, fosters understanding and connects us #lovelangs

Lots of us know someone who speaks a language we don’t. Today’s challenge will help us to connect with this person, their language and their culture, and reflect on the benefits of living in a multicultural, multilingual society. scilt.org.uk/LWS/DailyChall… #ScotlandLovesLanguages

@NUthmani So important that others used their voices in response. I did read about this yesterday but not sure if it made any UK broadcast news. And to think the aggressor believes the il/ils distinction makes his comment any more acceptable 😠 BBC News bbc.co.uk/news/world-asi…

"In a linguistically diverse world, institutions are likely to already have people with the right linguistic skills among their ranks. Harnessing and rewarding those linguistic skills unlocks potential and allows institutions and individuals to thrive."
