The moon has long been a shared locus of imagination and significance for Indigenous peoples. With the return of lunar missions, it is now a frontier for industry. Writer Michelle Cyca explores the economic and colonial logics shaping this transformation. thewalrus.ca/with-the-artem…

There are so many Platner red flags, that even me, someone who is highly attuned to them keeps discovering new ones. From the new NYT piece, he apparently got a DUI and his explanation was 'uhh actually I was hit by a drunk driver (while also being a drunk driver).' Seems legit.

Thank you @KidRock. @USArmy pilots suspension LIFTED. No punishment. No investigation. Carry on, patriots. 🇺🇸

To think, in an alternative universe, Bernie Sanders has already concluded his second term as President. The Green New Deal created jobs and helped tackle the climate emergency, healthcare is more accessible, wages are higher, wealth inequality reduced.. What could have been.

Why is the USA incapable of removing an obviously insane and incompetent President?

Remembering when Hillary was tarred for the crime bill (that was passed while she was first lady) but Bernie, who actually voted for it and had associated 'tough on crime' rhetoric, just got a complete pass because.....reasons.

The Daily Mail says that @StephenM ordered DHS to cause confrontations with protestors in advance of the Alex Pretti murder.

New: Trump pardoned nursing home owner Joseph Schwartz just 3 months into his sentence for a $39 million fraud scheme. Meanwhile, families who won multimillion-dollar wrongful death suits against Schwartz haven’t collected a cent. propub.li/4di7xXs

I think people having the drive to go to the No Kings protest is commendable however I think that "No Kings" is really just antiquated and dated. A protest with that name and that purpose would have worked and the early 1900s or 1800s. It should have been the No Capitalists protest and had a list of demands AND concrete consequences if those demands weren't met. Then those consequences will be carried out without hesitation. That would have been better.

Millions of people’s monthly student loan bills will go from $12 a month to $842 a month. And that’s not a joke. Why? Trump is trying to force people out of repayment plans and into the most expensive plan. This will be a major drag on the economy and complete disaster.

@HowEPhil Huh, I guess maybe it *would* kill you to credit Mayor Dickens given that his name is conspicuously absent from those posts.

@HowEPhil Atlanta has built plenty of protected bike lanes and trails under Mayor Dickens but people never give him credit for that, for whatever reason.
