Today I reintroduced the Hillsborough Law to Parliament. The Prime Minister promised enacting this legislation would be one of his first acts in office. A year on, he still hasn’t done it. I’m showing him that it’s here and ready to go. It just needs political will.

As a Hillsborough survivor and the parliamentary lead for the Hillsborough Law Now campaign, I've put on record the campaign's grave concerns about the Government's plans. A watered-down toothless replacement of the Hillsborough Law would be a further betrayal of Hillsborough families and survivors.

Almost 2 months have passed since the PM missed his deadline for introducing the Hillsborough Law backed by families, survivors & campaign groups, even though the legislation is sitting here ready to go. Today in Parliament I told the Govt that a failure to introduce a Hillsborough Law worthy of the name will be seen as a continuation of the betrayal of survivors and families of Hillsborough & all affected by state cover ups.
