I guess I’m a fan of baseball on radio. It’s almost musical, and the best broadcasters have established patterns in pitch and delivery. @Mariners radio, for example, is fantastic. They bat like .923.

For starters, I feel like I’m missing the spontaneous storytelling of the best broadcasters, who can spin a riveting tale precisely during lulls in action. I love me a good Rick Rizzs story—he’s had to interrupt himself calling balls and strikes to listeners.

How have MLB Pitch Clocks changed the nature of radio broadcasts? That’s a podcast I’d listen to.
