@TSNJR Some explanation needed here. Why on earth would you go with Ullmark both nights? He can barely play starter minutes as it is and it’s a back to back. Reimer has been solid and it’s important to keep him sharp. Ullmark hasn’t looked great in last few starts.

@justinskycak @Doug_Lemov Nahhh, I was always good at math in school. But I always hated it. I’ll take a good book over a math equation any day.

People don't hate math; they hate the feeling of being lost. They hate the compounded debt of unlearned prerequisites.

@JacketsInsider Never understood the rationale for shipping Tugnutt out after two seasons so Denis was suddenly bombarded with 77 games in a season. It rushed Denis and hurt the Jackets in the long and short term.

This Day in #CBJ History: March 2, 2002 Ron Tugnutt pitches a 30-save shutout and the Blue Jackets get goals from Mike Sillinger and Grant Marshall in a 2-0 victory at Los Angeles. It’s the sixth and final shutout in CBJ colors for Tugnutt,

@karenvaites @smorrisey As the sole Grade 6-8 English teacher in my small, rural elementary school, I’d love to see this curriculum and give it a try.

A teacher in NY developed a vocabulary supplement that's taking sharp teacher circles by storm. It's my honor to publish this piece by @smorrisey, spotlighting his work. I don't say that lightly. Sean has been hustling to develop expertly-crafted materials to teach vocabulary, and he is showing up every curriculum developer in America. I'm honored to bring the Word Mapping Project to a wider audience. You'll also hear reflections from the @CurriculumIP team. Come for Sean's instructionally-efficient design, stay for his outcomes, which are now being replicated by teachers like @mommagordon2 @SamanthaBrauns2.

@adulttamagotchi @CTVToronto I’m not so sure. By the number of teachers freaking out at this and saying they have math outcomes to teach, it doesn’t really sound like it is happening in as many classrooms as you’d expect.

@johnscott701 @CTVToronto @fordnation Students don’t stop learning because they watch something culturally significant. If anything, it’s a rare opportunity for authentic engagement, discussion, and connection to national identity. That’s good teaching, not lost learning.

After the incredible performances we’ve seen from our men’s and women’s hockey teams in Milan, all of Canada is cheering them on as they go for gold. To help everyone get in the spirit of the games, I’ve directed the Minister of Education to make sure all Ontario students are able to watch the remaining Team Canada hockey games that take place during school hours, starting with tomorrow’s game. Let’s all come together to cheer on Team Canada as they bring home Olympic gold!

@Spothe Thats why I don’t understand with it being so close how they could predict this with “High confidence” and 90% probability for my area. It seems to me with such a tight line, the confidence in the forecast mere hours before the expected event should’ve been reduced.

@jordanrmoore28 The gradient of where the snow was going to fall was so tight, and followed a distinct line. Think of a line of snow moving north and being quite intense in one area, and yet 50 km away.. nothing. That's what happened today.

So, now that the winter storm threat has ended, just some thoughts: 1) Complex weather systems are very hard to predict 2) You're working with probability and chance, so it's a best guess based on patterns/conditions 4) The atmosphere is complex - Mother Nature likes to fool us

@scottdkehler As quickly as expected? It didn’t develop at all. Maybe a half centimetre northeast of Winnipeg after forecasting 90% POP for ~15cm over the course of last night through to today on Weather Network app. How can they be this wrong? It wasn’t even close.

Some folks might be wondering what happened to today's winter storm? The storm is here, and it's bringing heavy snow to many parts of southern Manitoba. However, in the Red River Valley and southeast snow has not developed as quickly as expected.

@kellyHammo71824 @TheFrizz87 lol Tugger is not exactly a random Senator. Nearly 30 years later, Tugnutt still sits top 3 in most Sens goalie records and has that iconic moment jumping in the air with Redden after beating Buffalo 1-0 to clinch the Sens into their first ever playoff berth.

Name any random former Ottawa Senators player. I was going to say John Gruden but can't even find a picture of him other than with the Bruins. Guess he gets a mention, but for a picture I'll also say Jamie Rivers! Out of an 11 year career in the NHL he played 47 games there.

@MikeMcKenna56 @johnrichmondlaw @72BARZAL I’m only counting 8 teams for Tugnutt. Does his AHL stint with Portland count as Washington? Because he played that year entirely in the AHL before signing with the Sens and emerging as one of the better goalies in the league for several seasons thereafter.

@GovGone @TSN1200 Wow are you tone deaf or just a child? Grow up man. People die from mental health disorders every day. Rich, poor, famous, regular Joe-blows… Money isn’t a cure for mental health and seeking treatment and help to manage the disorder isn’t bailing on your team.

@TSN1200 This whole thing is just pathetic. He's being paid over 8M USD to play. He bailed on his team and now the season is likely lost. Yet here we are celebrating him like he's so brave or something.

Tonight's 4-1 win vs CBJ was just the second time in the last 15 games the Sens have held an opponent to 1 goal or less and the 6th time this season. #optimusreim

@GraemeNichols I don’t know why people are so surprised that a goalie who has lasted in this league for over 500 games (one of only 85 goalies in NHL history to do so) is coming in as a calm and competent veteran in goal.

@Casual_Mats Except Hammond was a third stringer, and Reimer is a 19 year veteran with over 500 games. The lack of respect he gets is wild to me. He’s one of only 84 other goalies in league history to surpass 500 games. Clearly he is competent.

@LalimesMartian It blows my mind how low people’s expectations were of Reimer. He might be older but he’s one of only 85 goalies in the NHL’s 108 year history to play over 500 games. You just don’t last that long in the league without being a reliable tendy.

Who else is terrified of going to war with Canada? (Sarcasm) CANADA WARNS TRUMP: Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney confirmed that if the US was to invade Greenland, Canada would view it as an attack on Canada, would be obligated to assist in Greenland's defense, and could use military force against the United States. “The future of Greenland is a decision for Greenland and for the kingdom of Denmark. We are NATO partners with Denmark and so our full partnership stands. Our obligations on Article 5, an Article 2 of NATO stand and we stand fully squared behind those.”

@scottlincicome Seems like this is lose lose. If we do send troops we get more tariffs. Then if we actually fight troops in Greenland we have basically just given the US permission to take Canada by force next and that’s probably exactly what Trump hopes for.
