New paper out today! @JosephTanas used multidimensional analysis (PCA + k-means clustering) to quantify behavior in #Angelman mice. This approach can be used to help evaluate AS therapies preclinically. nature.com/articles/s4139…

Our new paper is out!
We quantified overnight EEGs to develop biomarkers for ongoing and upcoming clinical trials for Angelman syndrome.
Take home: Delta⬆️in AS during wake and during all sleep stages. Sleep studies are hard, wake EEGs work great!

EEG technology carries racial bias. Traditional systems don't work with thick and curly hair. Researchers at CMU are working to change that.

EEG electrodes need to be close to the skin to get the brain's electrical signal. With normal electrodes on curly & coarse hair, this can be challenging. Arnelle Etienne and a group of researchers (@CMUGroverLab) recently changed that, by developing a whole new technique.
