Delhi’s upcoming EV ban is expected to add nearly 600,000 electric 2Ws and 11,500 electric 3Ws to national sales by FY29.
According to CRISIL, the draft Delhi EV Policy 2026-2030 will push pan-India electric 2W penetration to 21-23% by fiscal 2029, up from 18-20% without the policy.
Driven by its ranking as the world’s most polluted capital in the IQAir 2025 report, Delhi’s proposed EV policy targets vehicular emissions, which contribute 23% of winter pollution, with 2Ws making up 67% of vehicles.
