@dieworkwear Genius lines! “This is why Justin Bieber dresses like someone who just got out of prison for making methamphetamine. He wants to look cool.”

@pmtrudeau @ChaseZaba It would be a system where a few people in power would decide who matters and who should benefit from the system, and that the only people who matter are people who happen to be useful to the system.
English

@ChaseZaba If Harper remained PM? A guess, more CPC MPs/staffers jailed. More CPC election cheating, more PMO attacks on CPC Senators & private citizens, more $16 orange juice, more attacks on judges, government snitch lines installed to turn people against each other. Am just guessing….

@MediawatchNw What a lovely post. I am glad to see you are doing well.
English

@fietsprofessor I'm not saying people who drive bloated cars are careless drivers. But there is a tendency to behave with more care, the more vulnerable one is. For example, motorcycle drivers are usually pretty careful.

@coons_christian @CiurriaMichelle This is not specifically why I left, but it surely added to my reasons. I am so sorry for your position. I hope you can find another university where you can shine once again as an academic.
English

@CiurriaMichelle They torched the place. Complete with fabricated narratives that students and peers tried to "cancel" them.
I don't recall a political perspective--left or right--shared by anyone. There was no discourse of any kind here, only childish gangster behaviors encouraged by Deans.

@Isabelwilkerson Come on over to Blue Sky! It is very easy to sign up there now and much more pleasant than here. (I'm tweeting at you because I'm doing a photo of books I own by authors I follow on social media.)

@azarnafisi Come on over to Blue Sky! It is very easy to sign up there now and much more pleasant than here. (I'm tweeting at you because I'm doing a photo of books I own by authors I follow on social media. Plus you are the reason I got on Twitter in the first place, in 2013!)
English

@CassSunstein Come on over to Blue Sky. It's easy now to create an account and so much nicer there than this hellscape. (I'm tweeting at you because I'm doing a photo of books I own by authors I follow on social media. But you really belong at Blue Sky now.)

@witandstars To survive, we need water, food, and shelter. Clothing is also shelter. That's why I loved the bug head net I wore hiking the AT, because it gave me shelter against the gaze of other people, and against the bombardment of other sensory stimuli.

@DavidPepper Thank you for this. It's all about who gets to control and construct the reality we have to live in.

This is so important. For a new column, I spoke this morning with the great Yale historian @TimothyDSnyder, author of On Tyranny. I wanted to know how to live our best lives in opposition to an authoritarian regime
Here's what he told me (gift link to column in second tweet)

This is a really good thread.

There were other issues that they raised but the main point I wanted to convey is that the hinge was on what it means to be “different.” Not about being just different from Trump, but different from the same old same old entrenched politics that people are wholly angry at. 8/12

@ElliottBlackwe3 It's probably just bots . They have served their purpose and are being deactivated now.

@BarbMcQuade Why should these results be accepted, when all along we knew they would suppress voting, when they wouldn't accept the results if they lost. There should be challenges everywhere.

To our children and grandchildren, I’m so sorry we couldn’t turn back the hate at this moment. But we can’t give up on the idea of America. In this country, we accept the results of elections, we move on and we work.
Choose light over darkness, hope over fear, love over hate, unity over division. 🇺🇸
