@cityofwinnipeg there’s a pothole southbound St Mary’s near St Marks that is so big that it needs to be barricaded until it’s repaired. My son destroyed a tire on it last night. We’re happy he wasn’t hurt, but it’s just a matter of time before someone is.

Donald Trump is starting wars & destroying the American economy. Mark Carney is traveling around the world making trade deals and strengthening our friendships with our allies. I'm confident that Pierre Poilievre would have done everything Trump is doing. 🇨🇦 We got it right 🇨🇦

NEW - .@Dave_Eby announces BC permanently moving to Daylight Savings Time on Sunday. Will not roll back clocks in fall. Means in winter, BC’s new time zone aligns with Alberta. In spring, Washington State. In winter, evenings brighter but sun won’t come up until closer to 9am.

Thank you President Trump for drawing our attention to a historic and foundational document in the Canada–U.S. economic relationship. I invite everyone, especially our American friends, to listen to President Reagan’s full speech and form their own opinion about what he was truly saying.

Stop including BC in this bs. We don’t want anything to do with you traitors. The Liberals won the most seats in B.C. and the popular vote. We aren’t the same as you
Dave West@davidallenwest

Going forward the best option is either a new independent country in the West OR The west joins the USA The West will always get screwed by Ontario & Quebec and living under Liberal to WEF Communism is not what I want for my children and grandchildren

@Jill1Sweden I’ve historically been a conservative voter federally, but what the CPC has become in recent years is not something I could ever align with. Especially when the alternative is electing one of the top economic strategists on the planet. #CarneyForPM

Chantel Hebert from CBC is right. All this time she covered Turner, Mulroney, Harper or Chrétien nobody had signs that said f..CK Harper, or f...CK Chrétien. This CPC is not true Conservatives but turned into a far right wing group. This rhetoric is terrible. It comes from U.S.

@DavidABeaudoin As a Canadian, I support removing 🇺🇸 dairy quotas and tariffs if it means relief on tariffs going the other way. Probably need some guardrails on hormone content, but that should be doable.

Yves Francois Blanchet again comes out against pipelines with his real reason "The idea of an oil pipeline crossing Quebec to go to the east coast would have no economic benefit for Quebec." Falsely claims that "$7 billion of Quebec taxpayers money that went out to the west and nothing came back to Quebec." The east is supplied by autocracies and dictators Willfully blind Blanchet needs a lesson in transfer payments and foreign oil markets @yfblanchet

@tmiscorpio @SelfMadeMastery But how much of that is junk? 2/3 of my mail goes straight into the recycle bin. Unsolicited mail needs to be outlawed. As for the rest of the volume…simple economics: it’s currently too cheap. Charge more, and volume will decrease to mail that is necessary.

@Jumbo35 @SelfMadeMastery Agreed. Mail delivery could go down to once a week but under the current program, it takes two hours to sort the current volume of mail. Making it once a week would multiply that by five.

Canada Post, you’ve successfully ruined Christmas for millions of families. I respect your right to strike, but did you really need to cause so much harm to innocent people?

@tmiscorpio @SelfMadeMastery No one needs daily delivery of mostly flyers and coupons. I feel awful for people losing their livelihoods, but this is an unsustainable model that loses almost $1B/yr. Union has no leverage when the company is better off not operating.

@CoryBMorgan CUPW was nuts to go on strike with zero negotiating leverage. Govt is just gonna let them rot while people figure out paperless and/or courier options. I can certainly live without daily delivery of flyers and coupons that I don’t want.

I retired from playing professional hockey in 2021.   I started playing professionally in 2011 after I signed a contract with the Florida Panthers and decided to leave the University of Denver after only three seasons.   I felt completely “burnt out” when I decided to stop playing and could not understand why, after playing professionally for only 10 seasons. I always thought I was going to be the guy who played until he was 40. Recently, I had a conversation with a friend of mine, Derek Armstrong, who helped me crystallize my thoughts on why this occurred. Derek and I had very similar skill sets and talent levels.   Let’s begin by comparing our careers: Derek: 17 years pro, 477 NHL games, 1,015 pro games, retired at 37. Drew: 10 years pro, 99 NHL games, 322 pro games (a million healthy scratches), retired at 30.   From the time I was three years old, I shot pucks every day. I did this because I thought I had to in order to make the NHL. Derek shot pucks every day because he thought it was fun and genuinely enjoyed it.   I moved away from home when I was 13 to play hockey in Vancouver, and that was the year I mentally made hockey a job. I never once felt any pressure from either of my parents; this was simply the way I was wired at an early age. Derek played with his buddies every day on a pond until he turned 18. He didn’t think hockey was a job until his first NHL game at 20 years old.   This is an important lesson for both players and parents. I now realize that when I retired at 30, I felt exhausted because I had been treating the game like a profession for 17 seasons.   It is impossible to reach the pinnacle of any profession without years of hard work. The best players love their work. They enjoy every part of the game, which enables them to sustain energy and be successful for many years.   You have to find a way to fall in love with the daily grind, or else long-term success is impossible. This applies to sports and everything else in life.

@ChuckHellebuyck @NHLJets Absolutely bananas that they called that a goal! You would have to have rocks in your head to think that should count. Jets did a great job fighting through that to get the W!

I tuned in late to see this on replay. Geekie #14 lifts his pad with his stick and then pushes his pad into the net, never touching the puck, then falls on him and that’s not goalie interference?! Come on! Go @NHLJets !
