Digitisation and substitution of the AL-31 are appreciated, but India should also look at equipping these platforms with the AL-41F1S (117S) through domestic manufacturing and meaningful technology transfer, at least until the HAL AMCA engine ecosystem becomes a reality.

A positive news coming from AL31 side. They are making digital twin of AL31FP so indigenous parts can be subsisted in it subsequently.

@daeroplate_v2 But if you have proven core more important dependencies are solved. You then have option of all electric (which is future) or engage makers like HAL etc to do it (not as metallurgically as complicated as gas turbines are)

Engine deals with safran not concluded yet, if today we signed deals with safran, that take 10-12 years for production ready, that means if GE (USA) want, we're not get our First AMCA before 2038 😰.

AMCA engine should get finalised on priority. Sooner better it will be for the timelines.
MoD has selected Safran as partner; awaiting GOI nod.

So positive news on Kaveri and LCA. Yes it is happening but not as quickly as we want.
India is trying to secure all sort of 4 engines which we have been talking about. However there are roadblocks

- Russia : Complications
- UK : Confidence
