@2xBeepBoopVodka @DarnayTripp The latter. But that's a far more difficult judgment, because of the speed the ball is moving and how that limits an ump's ability to scrutinize it, than this particular situation.

This horrendous call resulted in the first base hit off a Mason Miller slider since last August. He then allowed another to PCA a couple batters later.

@dead_baseball @TimWoolley19 First off, the angles clearly showed no part of the ball was over the line. In the end it doesn’t matter, they changed that rule a few years ago. Ball now has to be in contact with fair territory.

That fair/foul call in the Padres-Cubs game is legitimately the worst call I’ve ever seen. It was clearly sitting foul and the umpire was right on top of it. That was genuinely insane.

the home plate umpire in the padres-cubs just got a fair/foul call wrong on a ball rolling down the third base line that wasn't moving and that he was two feet from, and it's not reviewable. how do you get that wrong. the ball is stopped and there's a white line to help you!
