@Feedback_Pete Alexei Navalny...leader of the Russia of the Future party. In Aug 2020 while on an internal flight in Russia he was poisoned with the nerve agent Novichok. He was taken to Berlin and recovered. Went back to Russia in 2021 and was put in prison

@Feedback_Pete I understand that he cannot stand in the 2024 presidential elections because by then he will have served 2 consecutive 6 year terms from 2012. But...as he is acting like a Dictator I wouldn't be surprised if he changes the rules! The opposition leader is in prison in Russia.

@Keith_Rule That's sort of what I'd read but it seems like he's been in longer than he should have been. I basically just want to see the public turn against him and vote him out. And the elections to be fair and honest with no corruption.

@Feedback_Pete State controlled media. Russia is becoming increasingly isolated from the rest of the world. Putin's invasion of a democratic sovereign nation has put Russia back 30 years.

@Feedback_Pete President of Russia is elected for a 6 year term. Putin was President from 2000 to 2008. He was then Prime Minister from 2008 to 2012. Then President again from 2012 onwards. So there should be presidential elections in 2024. The president can only serve 2 consecutive 6 yr terms

@Keith_Rule Maybe his people will turn against him too. But what's the electoral system like over there. I tried to Google it. A friend reckons putin has been there in charge too long that he will never get put out. That anyone who goes against him will get dispensed of or something dodgy

@Feedback_Pete It is clear to see that the last thing the people of Ukraine want is to be part of Russia. They want democracy and to have their country back. Putin has made a massive error and this will be the end of him...hopefully

@Keith_Rule Being part of Russia again is not his decision is should be a democratic decision the choice of first and foremost the people of Ukraine and the people of Russia has he stopped to ask what they want. It's not something that should be gained by force.
