This is just plain wrong. You cannot have action and empathy at the same time, they are incompatible. The emotional state required for one is the opposite of the other. Ideally, you would offer empathy FIRST, which requires stillness, presence and understanding. After she's reached a point where she's prepared to listen to alternatives, THEN you can be pragmatic and proactive. That being said, that is TERRIBLY difficult for us men. We are always in proactive mode; we need some training to lower the guard and be present.

But men are hardwired to view the woman they love being in distress as an active threat. His brain has recognized that something in the world is hurting his partner, and his immediate, visceral instinct is to assassinate the thing causing you pain. A grown, experienced human brain, if closed off from sight, hearing, touch taste and smell is capable of seeing outside itself and generating truly original ideas. It would be a miserable, lonely, psychotic existence, but why couldn't it? Is all human discovery only the result of external senses? Are no original ideas found in a vacuum? If a LLM had access to all the same facilities of a human body, could it come up with E=MC² on its own (in an alternative reality where that was never discovered by Albert Einstein) or could it come up with something as hellish as the Brazen Bull before such a thing could exist? Human consciousness has something more than that, and that is a humanist position to take. It's been less than 100 years since the advent of the modern computer, what profound narcissism is required to exclaim we replicated the will of human life itself. We don't hold the keys to the universe. Maybe one day, but we are not even remotely close. What we created is a very clever, mimicry. And it's fooling large swaths of the populace into believing something its not.

It's possible that people who say LLMs have/will replicate human consciousness believe so because when they use the LLMs, they cannot clearly see how original, critical thought is functionally missing from these programs, because they too are incapable of the very same thing.
