About transgression and how the elites use it to “win” the game.
The elites never actually win anything real.
They might rig the board for a century or two, but the price is their soul while they’re still breathing. They trade being human for a longer leash, then live in fortified paranoia waiting for the knife from the only people they can (barely) trust: the ones who did the same rituals.
In the end entropy collects anyway. The sun expands, the protons decay, their bloodlines and bunkers turn to rust and dust exactly like the rest of us. Zero advantage on the only scoreboard that matters.
The ones who kept their humanity, who loved, laughed, planted trees in whose shade they’ll never sit; those are the real winners. They got the only finite resource that was ever worth having: a life that actually felt like living.
Transgression just buys you the most expensive losing ticket in the universe.
