At least I'm glad Aki remained with the best arc and conclusion of the entire series without suffering from the ending's soft reset. Part 2 really suffered from a poor execution in all fronts with how it dealt with Denji's regression and Asa in general

After today I'm glad I dropped Chainsaw Man 39 chapters ago lol. Part 1 was a decent read that turned phenomenal in its last two arcs and I thought the beginning of 2 would keep the momentum. But it derailed fast, to a point where keeping up felt worthless. A shame really

This is funny cuz you can use this argument on Joker and it actually lands better because Joker overstayed his welcome years ago and Joker War had the right idea of killing him off.

The Maxx animated series completely blew my mind as a kid and it still does today. I still have episodes I recorded on VHS from when it aired on MTV’s Oddities. It definitely pushed me toward making weird, creepy animation of my own. RIP Sam Kieth.

Sam Kieth was the artist whose work makes you feel like it’s more than okay to take the big swings. It’ll lead to making something you were destined to and proud of. His art showed you that you don’t have to follow a path. That you can unleash yourself upon the world.

Sam Kieth’s stuff always gave me the exact same uncanniness and creep factor as stumbling on a too-late corner of Adult Swim? Exaggerated cartooning against photo realistic backgrounds, settings, or composites. It’s unreal. Nobody else could do this shit.
