@Slackonbothsydz Id say nope...just a stylistic shift, he was using the MPC2000XL post Soul Survivor 1 and I think Pestrumentals may have been throwbacks his sound since SS2 been just as soulful but more polish.

Has Pete Rock ever had a dip as a producer?
He came out the gate with 2 classics, stamped the Pete Rock Remix, dropped his own solo albums, beat tapes, produced endless classics for generational artists, is STILL making bangers til this day. Strong case for the best ever.
