We tried to electrify one home. It took 5 years… and we’re still not done. Not because the tech isn’t ready – because everything around it isn’t. Permits. Supply chains. Interconnection queues (we’re on round two). The technology was there. But the people and atoms weren’t aligned. The biggest blocker – no one understood why we were trying to build something “bigger than needed.” But that was the point. We’re not trying to make homes slightly more efficient. We’re trying to make energy abundant – starting with the home. That idea became: Kunal's Neighborhood Power We decided to open up the entire project, so anyone can see what it actually takes: Costs. The process. Real generation and usage data. Because this shouldn’t be rare. It should be repeatable at scale. A new architecture for how we build homes. I wanted to transform my frustration into a source of positive energy. Now we’re getting ready to turn @KunalsGrid on. And we want to celebrate what we’ve built – together with you. This summer we’re hosting a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, filled with: ⚡ an Energy Fair ⚡ Live Music ⚡ Food Trucks ⚡ a Design Competition (ages 0–99+) ⚡ and a Custom Light Show It's all going to be powered by our Solar Roof. (yes, really!) And we want you to help design the light show. Share: – your favorite color – how the lights should turn on And I’ll reply with how a kid in our neighborhood answered the same questions. Fair warning – they have some pretty fun ideas.

Kunal's Neighborhood Power
Welcome to Kunal’s Neighborhood Power! We’ll help kids (ages 0 – 99+) understand how we power our neighborhood. What powers the lights, keeps us warm in the winter, and keeps us cool in the summer? These and many more questions will be answered.

Housing is still built with fragmented energy systems. I'm excited to tackle this challenge by joining Berlin Raj and the @TOTEXENERGY team as a Product & Design Partner. This mission is about rethinking how we build housing – making homes dramatically more efficient, healthier, and simpler to operate. Totex is building an all-in-one home energy system that can reduce household energy costs by up to 50%. Instead of installing separate systems for heating, cooling, hot water, energy storage, EV charging, and pool heating, Totex integrates everything into one, highly-efficient device. The result is a home energy system with the efficiency of an industrial plant – or even the space station – without the energy waste created by today’s fragmented systems. For builders, this means fewer mechanical systems, simpler installs, and dramatically higher efficiency for homeowners. Totex has already been deployed in Australia, and I’m excited to become the first customer in the US with Kunal's Neighborhood Power. If you’re a home builder in the US, we’re forming partnerships and deploying pilot projects to scale this technology. If you’re interested in learning more – or know a builder whom we should speak with – please reach out. @berlin_totex will be visiting builders across Texas in March and April. We’d love to connect.
