@Fireblade_Jim Because of the supply chain, a lot of it comes through Hormuz, and there's fewer diesel refineries now thanks to net zero bollocks.
English

@Paul_Heron_ @AaronBastani He's right, unfortunately. I think now we can all agree that Churchill was a bit of a cunt. But we needed a cunt to defeat an even bigger cunt.
English

@AaronBastani He’s basically saying you have to fight evil with evil. Pretty cynical.
English

This is a bizarre, bewildering thing to say.

NOW - Netanyahu: "Jesus Christ has no advantage over Genghis Khan. Because if you are strong enough, ruthless enough, powerful enough, evil will overcome good."

@WowCoolTh4nks @straceX Used a few of these back in the day.
Also receipts used to contain full card numbers. Good times.
English

@straceX In the 90s there were credit card generators you could use to bypass adult site verification. Good times.

@petroleumpilled @Gk7egk @badboy_mickee @Rainmaker1973 UK did this too. Pretty common across all of Europe I suspect.

@penombresombre @realhansard There absolutely is to secure our shipping interests.
English

@LEGS223 @realhansard We have no strategic reason to deploy an aircraft carrier
The only way it could possibly make any sense is if deploying one makes trump happier

They aren’t going anywhere.

@TheNathanNS @GBPolitcs @Telegraph Percentage is a bogus metric. In absolute numbers it's outrageous. The pensioners of today never saw such a needy class of working age people.
There's no incentive to work in this country anymore and that needs fixing before we make life difficult for pensioners.
English

@GBPolitcs @Telegraph Casual reminder that pensioners make up 49% of all welfare spending at £163 BILLION, disability is 11%
If you're gonna get mad at welfare claimants, make sure it's the right lot 👍

@JCheruvathoor @AaronBastani Sure, if this has been America's intention all along. Then we are losing.
English

True, but you’re referring to collateral damage from the war which frankly has impacted the whole globe - not just Europe. Countries like India and Pakistan are looking at a GDP decline of upto 1.5 %. However, can any of these countries be seen as losing given that they’re not directly participating in the war?
English

@LEGS223 @MarkKav15119614 @Goosey30111568 I’ll come back to you when British servicemen are dying all to protect a shipping lane that has been closed because Trump decided he needs to puff his chest out
English

@ChrisRolfe16 @MarkKav15119614 @Goosey30111568 As I've said I don't want us to get involved but vast swathes of industry are reliant on the straight being open. So we might have to be, at least to secure the shipping. That's not offensive or beyond the realms of reasonable action.
English

@LEGS223 @MarkKav15119614 @Goosey30111568 It’s not our war, why are you so keen on us to get involved?
English

@JCheruvathoor @AaronBastani It's a collapse of a global supply chain, petrochemicals, fertilisers, plastics, etc. There's over 1000 ships trapped in the Persian gulf, thousands more cannot enter. They're all European owned or relied upon by European industry to some extent.
English

@hippyygoat Bombing their offensive capabilities is defending our interests, considering our ships are stranded in the Persian gulf right now at risk of being targeted.
English

@ChrisRolfe16 @MarkKav15119614 @Goosey30111568 Yeh. Iran are still sending their own ships through the straight (and a select few other countries ships), we tell them if they attack our ships then we'll attack theirs.
English

@GCUK101 @ChrisRolfe16 @MarkKav15119614 @Goosey30111568 The US isn't bothered more like. Because it doesn't need it.
English

@LEGS223 @ChrisRolfe16 @MarkKav15119614 @Goosey30111568 America aren't escorting their own ships and they have the biggest Navy in the world and have deemed it too dangerous so why would the UK risk escorting ships?
