Aw, we fell short but we gave it a darn good go! We congratulate @GavinWilliamson on his win and wish him well. Thanks to all of you who lent us your support, you did us proud by turning out to vote in such unprecedented numbers for a Labour candidate. Britain won tonight!

We didn’t quite make it tonight but we fought a campaign we could all be proud of. Many thanks to my team and to all of you who I was fortunate enough to meet over the last six weeks and an especial thanks to those of you who lent me your vote. A new day is dawning for Britain!

What a 43 days it’s been! I want to thank everyone I’ve met, friend and foe alike, for making this such a hard-fought but enjoyable campaign. We keep going until they shut the doors at the Polling Stations - and thank you to everyone there and at the count - but here’s a recap!

@DaveR_Lichfield Good luck from all of us tomorrow - if we can take down Fabricant and Williamson between us then we’ll have done our respective communities a power of good!

@lichfield_lips @DaveR_Lichfield It will be a travesty if Fabricant and @GavinWilliamson are saved by Green and Lib Dem voters failing to vote tactically, as they would want Labour voters to do in seats they are contesting with the Tories.

Ok Lichfield Constituency, here's a question on the eve of the election. Can anybody come forward that Fabricant has helped, i.e. materially assisted & improved a situation for? Genuine challenge. Green or LD, consider this: Fabricant or @DaveR_Lichfield. No other choice.

@LabourInStone @JacBrownLabour Exactly this☝️I am fed up with Gavin Williamson (why exactly was he knighted?) turning up at the site of other people’s hard work for a photo opportunity. We need someone who truly represents our community. LibDems and Greens if you want change please vote Labour!

Canvassing and leafleting can be rewarding and can be a challenge but sometimes you see something that simply raises a smile. 😊
