We don't need government researchers to study wildfire risk. We need to privatize forests (which, alone, will reduce wildfire risk) and start logging. Create wealth and prevent out-of-control forest fires. nytimes.com/2026/04/03/cli…

It is pre-market but indications are WTI will open about $12 higher than the close on Thursday, Brent up a similar amount.

Thought on the latest Trump war crime threat. If carried out it will mark the end of world order known since WWII. Taiwan? China ultimatium. S. Korea? N. Korea nuclear ultimatium. Russia?🤣 Any non-nuclear weapon state will now fast track their acquisition for self preservation

Details about the rescue op for the U.S. Weapon Systems Officer, via a U.S. military official: "The mountain top area on the left is where the WSO was hiding (he ejected 5ish miles northwest of there). The right area is the makeshift landing strip where they landed 2 C-130s and had 4 MH-6 Little Birds. "One Little Bird flew to that mountain top area and rescued the WSO and brought him back to the landing strip. And of course the two C-130s' nose gears got stuck in the dirt. So after a few hours they had to bring in three AFSOC Dash-8s to fly out the rescued WSO and the 100 or so personnel involved in the op." 1/2

@captainkudzu While happy they have rescued the pilot, I worry that this sets both unrealistic expectations and precedent. Something like this is not going to happen in a full scale war. Just ask Hogan, Klink or Schultzy

What a difference a few days can make... It's not closed>They better open it>They have 2 days to open it>They have 10 days to open it>We don't need it>Europe/NATO/Gulf countries should open it on their own>Open it immediately or I'll bomb your power plants>Open it immediately or I'll bomb you back to the stone age>You have 48 hours to open it or I'll unleash hell

Trump threatens Iran with “all Hell” if they do not reopen Hormuz or make a deal.

I wish some people who support the Israeli-U.S. war w Iran would stop using Ukraine as an example. Ukrainians never asked Americans to launch a war against Russia or put boots on the ground. Many American policy makers were panicked over delivering weapons not to anger Russia

Experts who supported what became the JCPOA did so overwhelmingly because we did not wish to see Iran acquire a nuclear weapon, something that now seems certain if the regime survives. He's ignored these arguments for two decades, no surprise he still ignores them.
Mark Dubowitz@mdubowitz

Please recommend serious critics of the Iran war whose analysis is not driven primarily by a desire to defeat Donald Trump rather than defeat the regime in Iran. Genuinely looking for thoughtful arguments from people who don’t filter everything through U.S. domestic politics.
