The Spider-Man tie ins for Ultimatum are actually really good because for the most part, they’re just about Peter doing everything he can to help people rather than forcing him to go and fight Magneto.

This cliffhanger would work really well if it was setting up a storyline that was actually able to anywhere instead of just being filler to pad out the tie in for a shitty event because this feels like the beginning of the perfect conclusion for the book.

It’s only just hit me that Bendis overcame his difficulty with writing solo books and incorporated his talent for writing team books in USM by basically just having like half of the Ultimate universe become Peter’s supporting cast by the end of the first volume of USM.

@LexiTalksComix Just to mention that Peter was supposed to be 17 years old in issue 100 (which, according to Bendis, actually takes place on Peter's birthday at that time), but Ultimatum happened and Bendis retconned his age to having just turned 16

The lead up to Ultimatum is hilarious because there’s so much stuff that Bendis was setting up but just had to completely drop because Ultimatum happened and put the Ultimate Universe on life support.

The amount of people I’ve seen reducing my favourite Spider-Man story to just being a revenge story for Kraven infuriates me.
Kraven’s Last Hint is at its core, a love story mixed with horror elements to show how powerful love is.
