Only 17.8 million people tuned in to watch Penn State-Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff semifinal, a sharp drop from the 27.8 million who watched Alabama-Michigan in last year’s semifinal. That’s a huge decline, especially for such a close game. What could explain this?
