Spongebob - Go Fetch There were some pretty silly cheats done in this scene to achieve this interesting facial expression! Its worth noting that most of this short was worked on in Blender!

Lip and Jules are the art director minds behind “Go Fetch!” Their unique approach to Blender perfectly complimented the inventiveness of the Maya animation and rigging team. Their ability to paint with light and make environment assets look like tactile pieces of art gave it some “movie magic”. It’s this kind of creative ingenuity and experimentation that was required to accomplish the artistic vision.
