Lou Malnati's and Giordano's are by far the two most overrated pizza places from Chicago; there's better pizza out there.

@Knickstape2005 Don't forget MI where she got 67K less votes than Biden did in 2020. And I will never forgive the Arab voters of Dearborn for steering the state towards trump. They swung so hard to the right it's almost laughable at the own goal they unleashed. x.com/i/status/20452…
Motor City Liberal returns@MotorCityLib

If Gaza was such a big issue for folks in Dearborn then why did they vote for the one dude Benjamin Netanyahu made no secret he wanted back in power? Also, why did they vote for a man who openly stated he would let Bibi finish the job and compare Palestinians to cancer.?

Kamala Harris lost PA, GA, and NC by a combined 345K votes. There's a combined 875K Black voters who didn't vote between those 3 states. Notice where she has been spending her time and who she has been talking to.

@Libs_OfChicago @ChicagoREDP @ChicagosMayor Actually I disagree. Ever been down to 31st street beach and then rode over to Oak St beach. The dichotomy is obvious. This ain't 1951, you won't see a whites or colored only sign, but these are defacto "turfs" and its clear as day.

Fun fact: The Chicago Riots of 1919 were about limited access to the beach for Negroes. In 2026, access to the lakefront has been limited again through privatizing the parking. If this doesn’t change, it’s going to go down again @ChicagosMayor

There’s ppl who think this is funny & I get it, it sort of is but it’s not funny in a good way. Then we have the leftists who believe that this is just part of living in the city but never ask themselves why it has to be this way & call you a racist for saying it should stop.

Hasan Piker is legitimately a genocidal maniac who would kill tens of millions of people if he ever had real political power. Why are so many Democrats intent on including him in their political coalition? Are they aware this is a breaking point moment for a lot of people?

@richsday @JeffO773 @acitythatworks Wow! Such an indictment of progressive governance. Since the election of @ChicagosMayor our gov't has been more interested in running its social experiment than getting the best deal possible for taxpayers. x.com/i/status/19317…

This is such a damning indictment of blue city governance. Of course there is a backlash to things like spending >$1 million per unit of affordable housing. Taxpayers are getting totally ripped off.

New at @acitythatworks: Chicago's newest city-funded affordable housing projects are projected to cost $697,000 per unit to build - and that's almost certainly an underestimate.

This Lesbian Visibility Week, we honor the experiences, perspectives and needs of Chicago's lesbian community, and we reaffirm our commitment to being a city where everyone is welcomed, protected, and able to live openly and safely. That's why I appointed the first-ever Director of LGBTQ+ Affairs, making Chicago the largest U.S. city with an executive-level position dedicated to advancing LGBTQ+ equity.

@chicagobars I guess, but the initial projections were obviously overzealous for what was built. It's a small space that lacks modern amenities. It's temporary but still - low variety of slots & table games, no sportsbook, no poker, no elite dining, no nightlife, no music/theater, etc.

@chriswithans No, this was a pretty hard (and deliberate) net partisan gerrymander. Republicans got things to line up neatly in 2010 & then overplayed their hand. Egregious gerrymandering is penny wise & pound foolish - voters hate it, so you trade house seats for points on everything else.

This was the actual last time we had anything close to fair maps in America. 2012. After the 2010 reapportionment. Even though we still counted noncitizens (including illegals) for the districts, too (because there were ~15 million fewer foreigners than now). A D+1.1 House popular vote translated to 234 seats for Republicans and 201 for Democrats. Republicans are just better situated for fair districts. Not our fault. But ever since then, Democrats have been running the gerrymandering machine at maximum capacity, churning out snakes and crabs and lobsters and a veritable Noah's Ark of different districting shapes.

@chriswithans That's not wrong but lacks serious context. What do you think the CA, IL, & VA maps of the 2020s are a response to? It's almost as if the 2010s saw a mass voter disenfranchisement program that touched 46 states. Did you magically forget about Thomas Hofeller and REDMAP?

Denver had 96 murders in 2021. Last year it had 37. The lowest since 1990 and the largest homicide drop of any major American city, far outpacing the national decline. Auto theft, burglaries, and gang-related violence also declined significantly. Here's what they did: 1. The police chief studied successful efforts in Boston and Dallas and mapped the specific blocks driving most of the violence, concentrating resources there with more officers, better lighting and cameras. 2. They’re now catching 8 out of 10 killers. Better evidence collection and stronger community trust generated more tips. And when criminals know they'll get caught and prosecuted, some of them stop shooting. 3. Colorado made every car theft a felony regardless of the car's value, closing a loophole that let so many repeat offenders walk. Auto thefts dropped 36%. But last month, the city council ripped out all 110 license plate reader cameras over fears the data could reach federal immigration authorities. This year, the numbers are already moving the wrong direction outside of police-targeted hotspots. A man walking his dog in Curtis Park was randomly shot and killed by a man on probation. Two people were killed at a north Denver park on Easter Sunday. The police strategy works where it's deployed. The question is whether Denver will keep building on what's working, or let politics take it apart.

Turns out the solution to America's high crime rate is just to put cameras everywhere and put people in jail when they do crimes

@JeremiahW2044 These gerrymanders are all a response to an arms race kicked off in previous cycles. By failing to share any of that context, such as Republicans mass voter disenfranchisement program with Thomas Hofeller, known as REDMAP, you end up coming across as nothing but a partisan hack.

@LostChiDem @PolitiBunny Again, history doesn't begin in 2010, retard. Redmap was in DIRECT response to AGGRESIVE gerrymandering in the North East and West coasts. You being historically ILLITERATE doesn't change that.

Democrats spent $70 million on this referendum. Almost every penny came from out of state. They broke laws. They wrote a deceitful ballot measure. They ran tv spots for two months, nonstop. They brought in Obama. They brought in Hollywood. We had grassroots. That’s really it. They only beat us by 70k votes. In an April election. Here’s the most ironic part … what do you notice? All that money, all that effort, and all they did was prove our 6/5 map is accurate. Almost exactly.

@ISentrosi @PolitiBunny Funny, how you left the Republican REDMAP program of the 2010s, the Bush "off-ramp" from '89, and the dozen states with +30% Dem voters but no D seats out of your outrage post. It's almost is if you're a partisan hack who roots for team that benefits from gerrymandering.

@LostChiDem @PolitiBunny Neat. You think history starts there too? It doesn't. Gerrymandering itself was named after the forefather of the Democrat party, the Democrat party was offered an offramp in *1989* by Bush and refused, then proceeded to gerrymander out the entire North East. Fuck off.
