The “DIGNIDAD” Act is even worse than you think. If this bill became law it would destroy the country. It would be the most disastrous piece of legislation in decades. Every Republican who supports it should be run out of town.

This is a new idea, modeled on the Rural Physician Loan Repayment program AND we’re open to feedback. It’s not core to the bill. And with new funding for DHS personnel under H.R. 1, the OBBB, it may not even be necessary.
Bottom line: we’re focused on what matters: enforcement, accountability, and getting this right.

@RepMariaSalazar Ok. I read your "Dignidad" act. What's up with the part where lawyers get their loans forgiven for defending illegals? You want taxpayers to fund lawyers to give illegal aliens permanent residency! Screw you and your Spanish language "Dignidad" act.

@GOP_is_Gutless @BettsiRoss That would stop 90% of illegal immigration.

Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders is pushing to restrict taxpayer-funded public benefits for undocumented immigrants — and it’s sparking a major national debate.
The core question: Should American citizens and legal residents come first when it comes to welfare, healthcare, and social programs?
Supporters call it basic fairness and fiscal sanity. Why should people who broke our laws receive benefits funded by Americans who play by the rules?
This “citizens-first” approach aims to reduce the burden on strained public resources, remove incentives for illegal immigration, and protect the long-term sustainability of the safety net.
As of April 2026, the fight between federal rules and state action highlights a deep divide: Do we owe unlimited support to non-citizens, or should limited taxpayer dollars prioritize those who entered legally and contribute to the system?
Legal challenges are coming, but the momentum is clear — many Americans demand real enforcement and an end to open-ended handouts.
What do you think? Citizens first, or not? 🇺🇸

I understand the policy objective
But I disagree with it
Strongly
It’s amnesty
Stop falsely claiming it isn’t
DIGNITY@dignityactus
The DIGNITY Act is not amnesty — it’s a legal work status that benefits all of us.

@RepMariaSalazar Oh by the way, this has just ruined your political career in the Republican Party. The Dems will welcome you but you are a traitor to Republicans.

Immigration brings out strong passions. Good. It should. Because it affects every single American.
But before echoing the noise, look at the facts.
The Dignity Act is clear:
NO path to citizenship.
NO federal benefits.
Criminals get deported- NO MERCY.
Instead, you come forward, you admit you broke the law, you pay the price. This is NOT a free pass… It is accountability.
You’ve seen the facts.
Now get it right.
