MEDIA RELEASE: Firefighters are calling on Victorians to put a freeze on preventable fires this winter mfb.vic.gov.au/News/Media-rel…

Last month our firefighters responded to 300 medical emergencies. MFB co-responds with the nearest @AmbulanceVic crew and provides life-saving emergency care to patients who are unconscious, aren't breathing or who don't have a pulse. #NotJustFires #WeWorkAsOne

MEDIA RELEASE: Approximately 30 firefighters were called to a house #fire on Maroondah Highway in #Ringwood at around 6:30am. Crews brought the fire under control within half an hour of the first call to triple zero (000). mfb.vic.gov.au/News/Media-rel…

If you’ve ever called Triple Zero, you would have spoken to one of the operators at ESTA. They’re on the other end of the line when you call for fire, ambulance or police. Now you can hear their stories in a podcast which goes behind Victoria’s emergency Triple Zero service.

MEDIA RELEASE: Firefighters brought a suspicious fire at #StAlbans under control in just 13 minutes this evening. The blaze began in an empty house just after 5:40pm. mfb.vic.gov.au/News/Media-rel…

Installing interconnected smoke alarms in your home means you’ll be alerted to a fire, wherever it starts. When was the last time you checked your smoke alarm? Visit mfb.vic.gov.au/Community/Home… for more info. #WorkingSmokeAlarmsSavesLives

Our Urban Search and Rescue firefighters were busy this week familiarising themselves with shoring support methods, which are used to stabilise and prop up damaged buildings. These skills ensure we’re prepared for a range of emergencies and rescue operations 🚒 #NotJustFires

Did you know that MFB has different types of fire trucks (otherwise known as appliances) that respond to fires and emergencies? Firefighter Winston takes us on a tour of one of our Pumpers and shows us all the equipment and gadgets our firefighters use to save lives. 🚒

More than a dozen MFB firefighters made their way to the Monash Freeway after a fire took hold of a semi-trailer just before 9am. Crews arrived and quickly contained the fire located at the front of the semi-trailer & made the scene safe in just over two hours. 🚒🚒
