@Mted71 First point only relevant on a 300+ mile journey. My EV is cheaper than my old ICE to insure. Tyres are cheaper but again depends on the car. I had a 4x4 VW that cost a fortune for tyres. All cars depreciate.

@MRKHLL0 Quicker to fill up, cheaper to insure, cheaper tyres, tyres last longer, depreciation not as high, will last longer in most cases. Small damage may write off batteries. Having said this, I’d have one because it would suit my needs .

@ItsJamesHall I did it at my old employer. 40% tax payer - got a Model 3 with 10,000 miles for about £380 a month (net) including insurance, tyres and a home charger. No brainer.

My employer has just launched an EV salary sacrifice scheme. I buy my cars outright, but I'm tempted to sell mine, invest the cash, and use the scheme instead. Anyone done this?

@hovinthenorth Yes my i4 is a 2026 - tech isn’t as good as Tesla but a definite big improvement on the 3 series I had 10 years ago!

@hovinthenorth Which BMW did you move from? I went from Tesla Model 3 to BMW i4 and I much prefer the BM. That being said - things like the app and tech are deffo ahead in the Tesla.

@sydney_ev I’ve got the i4 with adaptive sounds and it lasted about 13 and a half seconds of ownership before it got turned off 🤣. But tbf it’s a weird adaptation of an engine sound

I genuinely don't understand UK holiday prices anymore. You're asking me to pay over £900 to stay in a log cabin where the weather's a gamble, the nearest beach is an hour away, and I can still hear the motorway. For less money, I could be lying by a pool in Spain with unlimited food and drinks. How have we reached this point?

🚨 Mum moment that says everything Picked my boy up from school today. Asked what he learned. The usual chat… then he mentions RE. “What did you do today love?” “The same as every time mummy… we learned about Islam. We did Salaah and the 5 pillars again.” I asked him what he knows about Christianity. He thought for a second and said: “Is that the one where you wash your hands, face and feet?” 🤦‍♀️ British kids in British schools learning about Islam on repeat… but barely anything about their own country’s Christian heritage — or any other faith for that matter. I will be writing a formal email to the school about this lack of inclusion. If you want to be truly multicultural, you must include ALL faiths — not just one at the expense of everything else.
