I can point out that Progressive Rock legend Adrian Belew hired two kids out of the very first School of Rock and formed the Adrian Belew Power Trio with them.

@lnsane_dude @Ianstutom @wisetuna I'm friends with many of their teachers, all of whom are working musicians, and they appreciate the opportunity to pass along their skills and enthusiasm to the next generation. Everybody starts out playing covers, it's how you build your tool set.

No two bands should ever be exactly as lame as each other when covering a song. The word that comes to mind is “formulaic”. I’m finished.

@KweenPeen @wesley_berlin @wisetuna I shot these shows for more than a decade, selling DVDs to parents. When physical media died, I started monetizing the clips. The vast majority of them make nothing, but this one became crazy popular for some reason.

I traveled to Cleveland to shoot it, and then left the same night for Philadelphia.

@MWConcertVideo @wisetuna @Notoldjustexpe1 Excellent! Perhaps I was doing a bit of a disservice by calling it “some sort of village fete”. I’ve also seen some of the other footage and they are all clearly talented musicians who can turn their hand to any type of musical style/genre. Great stuff & nicely shot too.

@lnsane_dude @Ianstutom @wisetuna The School of Rock provides what young musicians most need… a place to practice, people to practice with, and talented teachers. It's the largest employer of musicians in the world, and gives them a day job that gives them the freedom to gig at night.

@MWConcertVideo @Ianstutom @wisetuna I didn’t come up with “all the talent in the world and one dollar will buy you a donut”, but I’ve seen 100s of the most talented artists have no creativity. Fugazi themselves weren’t even about “chops” or talent. You’re missing my point. But keep filming, people seem to like it.

@lnsane_dude @Ianstutom @wisetuna I don't think anybody's fooling them that they're all going to be successful, just that they'll have the tools necessary to do so. As they advance in the program, they'll help teaching. If you can get four 8-year-olds to play Seven Nation Army, you can handle anything.

@MWConcertVideo @Ianstutom @wisetuna And I know some of the most talented musicians in the world, Berklee grads and others. I know one of the greatest, most talented rock drummers in history. He’s driving an Uber, which is a respectable profession. What I’m saying is talent doesn’t mean “great art”.

Adrian Belew Hired the two members of the Adrian Belew Power Trio directly out of the original Paul Green School of Rock music.

@wisetuna @Notoldjustexpe1 @MWConcertVideo There's another video of them performing "Waiting Room" at some sort of village fete on YouTube, which is just as good. The female lead singer has a great voice and a great stage presence. Wonder if any of them went on to have a decent career in music.

@wesley_berlin @KweenPeen @wisetuna These young people are in the House Band, and they auditioned to get into it. They're the best from their local school, and the best of those kids competes to become AllStars and go on a national tour. It's all competitive above the entry level, and you have to be very good.

@lnsane_dude @Ianstutom @wisetuna I've recorded hundreds of kids from the School of Rock, and I have recorded their original music. I know a dozen who graduated from the Berklee School of Music, and some who have successful bands now. Your negativity is your own problem.

@KingLeary2 @wisetuna It is definitely not karaoke. Every single note being sung and played was by those young people on the stage. I'm the person who shot it, and all I had was a stereo feed from the main board, and a pair of microphones to pick up the audience.

@lnsane_dude @wisetuna School of Rock is actually the least expensive method of music education. It's been a while since I checked, but it gets you 20 some hours of instruction for around $300 a month. These aren't rich kids. Since when was punk about gatekeeping?

@wisetuna @MWConcertVideo That's fucking awful! School of Rock produces the most vanilla, soulless musicians. None of these spoiled rich kids understand what it means to be "punk". I saw another similar performance from a nearby Shool of Rock and it was equally horrible.

@mrjigxaw @TS_Secrets Yes, he did. He never has owned a plumbing company but his own, but he worked for a man who did who was surprisingly generous.

@MWConcertVideo @TS_Secrets He didn't make 6 figures as a plumber. Period. As a business owner ordering around a dozen plumbers? Maybe. If he worked 50 hrs a week at $50/hr (unlikely) then he still didn't make 100k+

@KrehbielAuthor @TheRealDoctorT My late wife died of cancer. We were lucky. She never chose a Medicare "Advantage" plan. Medicare A & B & had a low enough income on Social Security to qualify for Medicaid. No medical debt and never had to spend a minute on the phone with an insurance adjuster.

@TheRealDoctorT Well of course they won't. I have had Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. They made it impossible to care for my son with Crohn's and daughter with T1D. They also didn't pay for anything when my youngest died suddenly. Insurance ends when someone dies.

Why isn't this a thing? Does some scummy company have a patent on this?

Hey @madebygoogle! A friend of mine has Parkinson's and desperately needs to be able to answer his Google Pixel phone by pressing on one of the volume buttons or the power button. On screen buttons do not work when you have mobility issues. #pixel #android # accessibility
