I don't think there's ever been an unattractive female rapper that has gone platinum. Now, there have been plenty of super-talented female rappers that aren't traditionally beautiful that you could argue are lyrically better then the list I just named. But none of them have achieved superstar status. But when it comes to female R&B singers, looks don't seem to be as important when it comes to commercial success.
