𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀. Instead, they are strengthened when that data is used to inform coordinated and deliberate action. In Tanga, when the IMPACT baseline assessment revealed high overstocks and commodities being ordered without demand, it presented an opportunity to improve supply chain management. Through coordinated redistribution and strengthened ordering practices, facilities translated insight into measurable improvement. Across three consecutive reporting periods, 9 of 10 supported facilities reduced overstock levels. All ten facilities maintained less than 3% percent of no-demand-but-ordered commodities, fully aligning with national standards. Last week (16–20 February 2026), our team joined County and Sub-County Pharmacists, facility pharmacists, and healthcare providers across all 12 sub-counties in Kakamega County for a family planning (FP) support supervision and redistribution exercise. Using real-time commodity data, we mobilized stock from overstocked facilities to those facing low stock or stockouts, while reviewing commodity management practices, reporting processes, and facility stock status. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 🟩Access to family planning is shaped by more than commodity availability. Low IUD uptake highlighted gaps in provider confidence, while DMPA-IM resupply challenges may influence shifts toward DMPA-SC, illustrating how supply dynamics can shape method trends. 🟩In remote facilities, self-injection remains a behaviour change journey, with clients still preferring provider-administered services despite home doses being available. At the same time, low order fill rates are forcing facilities to borrow stock, creating inventory complexities and potential data distortions. 🟩While data quality is largely strong, discrepancies in some facilities reinforced the importance of regular supportive supervision and peer learning. This week, inSupply Health is supporting the Curriculum Development for 5 Short Courses in Health Supply Chain Management (HSCM) funded by the Kühne Foundation Tanzania to strengthen and professionalize the health supply chain workforce. inSupply Health is providing technical assistance to develop the curriculum and showcase our health supply chain micro-modules, designed using the Human-Centered Design (HCD) approach. The engagement brings together stakeholders including Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) lecturers, the Pharmacy Council, healthcare workers, the Pharmaceutical Society of Tanzania (PST), and partners from the Kühne Foundation. When numbers save lives. For years, forecasting family planning commodities in Kenya meant long hours, fragmented data, and manual processes that too often resulted in stock-outs or costly overstocks directly affecting women’s access to the methods they choose. In partnership with the Ministry of Health, inSupply Health supported Kenya’s National FP forecasting process, embedding AI to make it faster, more transparent, and far more accurate. 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗢𝘂𝗿 2025 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗧 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮! Last week, we wrapped up our final monitoring visit for the year across all facility IMPACT Teams in Tanga City Council. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 All 10 health facilities demonstrated significant improvements in the quality of their consumption data. This collective effort contributed to the Tanga City Council being recognized by MSD for outstanding data quality, a milestone that reflects commitment, collaboration, and consistency at every level. For two consecutive quarters, Makorora HC has successfully maintained a less than 5% no demand meeting the national target and beyond. These achievements reaffirm the power of data-driven decision-making and highlight how empowering facility-level teams can create meaningful, system-wide impact. When health workers are equipped with the right skills and tools, the entire supply chain becomes stronger, more efficient, and more responsive to community needs. As part of our annual volunteer day, the Tanzania team, in collaboration with @JSIhealth colleagues, visited the Children’s Cancer Ward at Muhimbili National Hospital. During the visit, the team engaged with patients, their families, health workers, and hospital management, taking time to learn more about the facility, the challenges they face, and to support the great job they are doing. The activities of the day allowed us to make a difference and put a smile on the lives of the communities we serve, and strengthen the partnerships that help us deliver tangible, positive outcomes. #VolunteerDay2025
