Does mulching prevent fusarium wilt in tomatoes? No!!! Fusarium wilt is a fungal disease that causes yellowing of the lower leaves, loss of moisture leading to stunted growth hence drying. Therefore, to prevent Fusarium wilt in tomatoes , it’s advisable to; ✅Regularly scout the field to identify any signs of infection to ensure early prevention. ✅Remove and destroy infected plants immediately they are spotted in the field. ✅Use resistant varieties and practice best farming practices such as crop rotation, Sanitize farm equipments to avoid spreading infested soil. ✅Use curative fungicides to prevent effectiveness of the disease. Fusarium wilt is persistent in the soil and prevention is better than cure. #FarmersFirst

The interventions go beyond restoration. By integrating green energy solutions such as briquettes and energy-saving stoves, the plans directly address the drivers of deforestation while promoting sustainable alternatives at community level. #ClimateJustice

Participants are refining message delivery across three key formats, a short pitch, an advocacy statement, and digital content ensuring consistency in their core message while adapting tone and framing for different audiences and platforms. #ClimateJustice

Piduyem Pir Anyim Maber group has designed a focused advocacy strategy in Pakwach District, combining community sensitisation, policy dialogue, and support for tree nurseries within a clear three-month implementation timeline. #ClimateJustice

In Nebbi District, participants have developed structured action plans to address deforestation, linking stakeholder engagement, community dialogue, nursery establishment, and tree planting into one coordinated and practical response. #ClimateJustice

The ELthree Climate Justice Training concludes today in Nebbi District, with participants leaving with costed action plans, defined responsibilities, and clear next steps ready to translate commitments into community action. #ClimateJustice

In campaign canvas sessions, groups are rigorously interrogating their issues defining the problem, narrowing their goals, identifying power holders, and selecting tactics that are both strategic and achievable within their contexts. #ClimateJustice

Day 3: We continue the Climate Justice Training in Nebbi District, bringing together 45 advocates to turn three days of learning into practical community campaigns addressing urgent climate challenges. The work continues.

As climate impacts continue to affect communities thru floods, drought, food insecurity & loss of livelihoods, it is critical that those most affected are not left at the margins of decision-making. They must be supported to influence the policies & systems that shape their lives

We challenged participants to move beyond just identifying problems to start crafting clearer advocacy asks, stronger strategies & intentional engagement with policy & accountability spaces. Level of reflection, participation & practical thinking that has emerged is encouraging

Group 4 discussed fighting deforestation through partnerships with local NGOs, community involvement, promoting the 3Rs, and setting up waste collection points. They also recommended tree-planting and sustainable practices to safeguard forests.

Day 2: Focus is on policy & advocacy skills. Centering climate policy frameworks, rights-based approaches & practical advocacy skills enables Us contribute to stronger ecosystem of grassroots actors who can organize, speak with clarity & push for #climatejustice with confidence.

Why this matters: The #ClimateJustice Advocacy Training focuses on advancing climate justice by turning community experiences into rights-based advocacy,enabling participants to clearly define injustices, identify responsible duty-bearers, and demand accountability.

Group 3 is addressing flooding in Nebbi Municipality by promoting proper waste management. Solutions include mobile waste collection trucks, disposal points in every cell, and bins at shops, with advocacy targeting local government, councilors, businesses, NGOs, and households.
