A comment about working on low budget films. I did my first short for $1500. The crew worked for free and the actors on deferral. I did my second short with a slightly larger budget and brought back many of my crew (and acting extras) and was able to pay them. I did my first feature with a more reasonable budget, brought back many of my crew (and actor extras) and was able to pay them much more. I trust these people. They jumped on my films where there wasn't much for them to take home financially. And I will use them again and again, as my budgets get larger. That's why you work on low budget films; you want to align yourself with talented people, and ride that bus with them as they (and you) climb. It is possible to eliminate yourself from future opportunities with them. I just don't know why you would do that to yourself.

Sometimes, I wonder why I do this work. I wonder why I work so hard to elect Republican majorities into office & — when we are in power — our very elected officials don’t wield or harness that power. I wonder why I lose sleep, miss family vacations, & put my personal life on hold, so wealthy Senators can go on paid vacations after not achieving the very promises they campaigned on. Sometimes, I wonder if they truly care about us & if they actually want to represent the will of the very people that elected them into positions of authority. I will tell you this: if the Senate ultimately does not pass the SAVE America Act, I will use all of the energy, hustle, & organizing efforts we used to elect these Senators into office as tools to peacefully & respectfully defeat them in their upcoming elections.

Food banks were created to help struggling families, seniors, and people going through hard times put food on the table. Seeing donated groceries handed out for free and then immediately resold on the sidewalk for cash is frustrating. Every item being flipped for a dollar is one less item available for someone who actually needs that help. Programs like this only work when people use them honestly.

I find it very hard to believe that Bass' growth is flat and Raman's is exploding suddenly. I know a very wide and diverse group of people in LA and I don't know anyone who was voting for Raman.
