I’m not sure about “weird” in terms of ableism discourse. Blind, deaf, dumb, crazy are ableist because they stigmatize disabilities In some contexts, “weird” is ableist. Kids use it to pick on neurodiverse kids a lot. But there are other contexts? Idk I’m thinking about it

@starsleeps Yep. I had to be in a fetal position for 3+ days a month, and all the docs were like "Sweetie, it's always going to hurt a little." I've broken bones, been hit by a car, had major surgeries, & have IBS. I can handle pain. NOTHING has ever hurt as much as those period pains.

I was literally using the elevators at school because it hurt to walk up the stairs and a doctor looked me in the eyes and said that pain was just part of being a woman 🧍

Thinking about the doctor that told me my pain was totally normal while like 1/3 of my uterine cavity was a tumor

Thing is, reactionaries are incapable of extending empathy to people unlike themselves & they assume everyone else is like that too. They assume you must have kids to care about families. But the rest of us aren't broken like that.

It's perfectly fine not to have kids. You don't need to have some tragic fertility/IVF story. You don't need tell us how you play with your nieces & nephews, or friends' kids. You can even not like kids at all! It's fine. It's your choice & nobody else's business.
