@JohnFinnemore @graemeallan You could insert “up-bow staccato” as the first thing (rather a tricky but showy technique used in virtuoso pieces…) so something like: “having perfect up-bow staccato is all very well but you need to spend more time perfecting the fingering!”

@StolenRide My one-of-a-kind classic Vitus 979 was stolen from my apartment in Hackney/Homerton 2 days ago. Fixed gear, Campagnolo Shamal front wheel, white Selle San Marco Regal saddle with copper studs. Built up over the last 10 years this is a v special bike to me 😩
