Mighty Monday. 💪 It's no secret that silver age comic books helped create my love for transformation. Beefy Lana Lang blew my mind (looks primitive now) but Raye Hollitt was a revelation. The best reason to watch American Gladiators.

AI is a problem. No rage here, just an observation. The AI problem isn't what most people get mad over IMHO. I just want to know if something is made with AI. Today I stumbled on a jazz playlist on Youtube. Something about the music was kind of cool. It seemed like a good vibe for my afternoon of writing. But, it seemed too perfect. My AI check involves several give away elements. Looking at the poster frame image to see if it seems AI - yup, it's a bit graphic art style. Then I looked at the video channel's oldest video post - only 3 months old. It listed musicians, but when I looked them up the info did not match. The lead trumpet player's name is actually a known cello player. I am not going to go on a huge boycott, but my youtube time is going to be more selective. I am going to spend more time reading books and ignoring the web.

@squidlord @Blackmoor_Film You're being disingenuous by your broad definition. No point in discussing it any further with you.

No, just making shit up is religious. There is no existential threat provided by AI, firstly because AI is not a singular thing, secondly because we've had it since the 30s at one level or another via various mathematical and mechanical methods. Thirdly, because you don't actually know what you're talking about. Other than that, sure.

If there’s any question about Stallone’s acting ability outside of Rocky and First Blood, the film you really need to see is, Nighthawks. He’s great in it.

Wait, so you found something that you liked and enjoyed, and then you dug into it and discovered it was produced in a way that really doesn't matter to the actual enjoyment of the product. So you discard the product that you like and enjoyed in favor of other things which are very different and don't satisfy the need that it was actually intended to satisfy. I have to say this accords with a lot of the anti-AI sentiment out there. People apparently need to be told what they should like, whether they like it or not. They can't make up a mind for themselves as to whether they enjoy a thing. They need to know if it's AI or not so that they can decide whether they take pleasure in it. This is perhaps one of the worst attitudes which is becoming prevalent across media in general: abdication of responsibility for your own enjoyment. Did you like it? Yes. Then you should continue to like it. You shouldn't need to be told whether you like it or not, or should like it or not. That is horrible, and it fills me with shudders to contemplate where that leads.
