@aaron_renn Can you identify an American city in any region that has been able to make meaningful infrastructure investments since NEPA? Adding roundabouts to a exburb carved out of cornfields doesn’t count.

The South's failure to address infrastructure is it's Achilles heel. During their mega-growth phase, older cities like NYC saw stupendous levels of investment into infrastructure.

Yesterday in church we heard testimony from a couple who lost everything in #helene. As soon as they could be rescued they went to their daughter’s house to check on her. The house was gone. The son-in-law’s body was later found in Tennessee. The daughter was never found. They took in their granddaughter who somehow survived. @biltmore church bought them a new fully furnished @claytonhomes home! Thank you to all who gave to #828strong. We are generous because Christ was generous to us in the gospel.

Riverwalk Park and downtown Columbia are separated from Maury County Park and Columbia Central. As a Mayor and life long resident of Maury County, I am extremely disappointed with the congressional redistricting which will dilute Maury County’s influence in Washington.

The Powell Mountain Overlook between Duffield and Stickleyville, Virginia in Scott County. Gorgeous in all four seasons and any time of day or night.

@RolandGunnTN STL is more aligned with Chicago than KC, Nashville is arguably more aligned with ATL (via Chattanooga) than Memphis. To the degree Memphis and Nashville are aligned, Memphis is the inferior.

@48hghtchrdnck I’m not going to bemoan my ancestors who served in the blue. They fought valiantly and ended up winning, far from their homes. You lot are allowed to be proud of your ancestors, I will be proud of mine.

With all this relitigation of the Civil War going on, why do I have to defend the cause of the Confederacy to be Based™️? I acknowledge that CSA soldiers fought well, they had a few good generals, the Union were the better fighters, & we are all Americans and better off for it.

@EcciusMaximus First, that wasn’t American soil, it was a failed Spanish colony that America conquered ~250 years later. Second, the first Christian services there were held a year earlier in 1564 by Huguenots at Fort Caroline (they were murdered by these Catholics in the Matanzas Massacres).

The first Christian service on American soil was a Catholic mass. The Catholic faith was the foundation and pillar of its truth.

Will the US Supreme Court weigh in to overturn the Virginia Supreme Court decision rejecting its gerrymander? Amazingly, and despite this being a state law-based ruling, Virginia plans to ask. I'm intrigued to see what argument Attorney General Jones will make. I'm skeptical

Took all four of my kids to the grocery store. Everyone kept looking at me. Guess the sight of a guy wrangling 4 children in a store was a spectacle. A big, tall dude in his late 40s stops me a while later & goes, “Hey, are those two little ones twins?” Me: Yep. Guy: And these two boys yours too? Me: Yeah they are. (Guy shakes my hand.) Guy: Man, I just want to say I think you’re killing it. Me: Oh… well… thanks man! Guy: Yeah, I’ve been where you’ve been. I have 5 kids! Was great. Very rare for a dad to audibly recognize another dad in public. I was very touched.
