.@VP: We are about to enter, as Christians, the most important week of the Christian calendar — Holy Week. I want to say all of my fellow American Christians, but particularly those serving, that I wish you all a very blessed Easter and we continue to stand behind you.

.@VP: What we have now that we didn't have when @POTUS took over is the ability to use every tool at our disposal to ensure that Iran doesn't get a nuclear weapon... You don't want the worst people in the world to have a nuclear weapon. That's why the President is doing this.

@ActionnaireRe @holysmoke @NicholasOShaug1 @DictatorPope The Westminster Confession of Faith states the "civil magistrate [i.e., the Sovereign] ... hath power to call synods, to be present at them, and to provide that whatsoever is transacted in them be according to the mind of God" (XXIII.3). More than just a "simple member..."

The Church of Scotland claims the King is a "simple member", but this makes little sense to me, as one can't simultaneously be Anglican & Presbyterian. I think it's more to correct, in line with your comment, to say that when in Scotland, the monarch worships in the Kirk, in keeping with post-Victorian tradition and the monarch's undertakings to maintain the Scottish national church.

What's really exciting is that HM currently-appointed Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland (The Kirk) is a Roman Catholic!

He’s not really head of either church but supreme governor of the CofE and an occasional member of the Kirk when in Scotland (but it doesn’t have a head). It was ultra-Protestant Victoria who began the weird tradition of the monarch worshipping in the Kirk when in Scotland, something that scandalised many Anglicans at the time. Worth noting that the theology of the CofE under Elizabeth was much closer to Calvinism than Catholicism.

Important to include the penultimate paragraph from His Holiness' message: 'At the same time, we also know that the ecumenical journey has not always been smooth. Despite much progress, our immediate predecessors, Pope Francis and Archbishop Justin Welby, acknowledged frankly that “new circumstances have presented new disagreements among us.” Nevertheless, we have continued to walk together, because differences “cannot prevent us from recognizing one another as brothers and sisters in Christ by reason of our common baptism” (Joint Declaration, 5 October 2016). For my part, I firmly believe that we need to continue to dialogue in truth and love, for it is only in truth and love that we come to know together the grace, mercy and peace of God (cf.2 Jn1:3), and thus can offer these precious gifts to the world.'

“To The Most Reverend and Right Honourable Dame Sarah Mullally Archbishop of Canterbury: I send prayerful greetings to Your Grace on the occasion of your Installation as Archbishop... In asking the Lord to strengthen you with the gift of wisdom, I pray that you may be guided by the Holy Spirit in serving your communities, and draw inspiration from the example of Mary, the Mother of God... With these fraternal sentiments, I invoke upon you the blessings of Almighty God as you take up your high responsibilities. May the Holy Spirit come down upon you and make you fruitful in the Lord’s service.” ~Pope Leo XIV

A beautiful - and realistic - message from Leo to Sarah which it behoves well for all Anglicans and Roman Catholics to read, study and share. ❤️

Never, ever, ever interrupt the Judge. And if anyone ever says ‘Put your hands behind your back,’ whilst lawfully wearing a badge, do it. You’re going to jail; an attorney can sort the details later.

On this episode of "What Not to Do as a Lawyer"... he's gonna need a lawyer! 😂 Must be a liberal...after arguing with the judge IT pulls the “because I’m trans” card, then when found in contempt yelled “I can’t breathe” followed by a scream. 🤣

A diplomatic and polite message. Your Grace is the honorific used for a Duke and an Archbishop, and since Dr Mullaly sits in the House of Peers, there’s a delightful ambiguity in using that title.
Michael Haynes 🇻🇦@MLJHaynes

Pope Leo XIV has sent “prayerful greetings to Your Grace” Sarah Mullally, upon her being installed as Archbishop of Canterbury He lauds progress of Catholic-Anglican ecumenical dialogue, but cites Pope Francis noting “new circumstances have presented new disagreements among us”
