I was most proud of this. Can you believe that before 2019, my cartoons were featured in every newspaper across Atlantic Canada? Every single one. Small, medium, and big publications alike. I dominated four provinces—New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland. I loved this region deeply, and I made it a point to draw local cartoons that resonated with the community, not just the big, easy targets like Trump. I knew people on the community level- Oxford, Saint John, Bridgewater, Summerside, New Glasgow, Torbay, St.John's, Charlottetown, Cornerbrook. And now? I’m in none of them. Postmedia owns them all.

Let’s reflect with our local community to understand how hedge funds like Chatham Asset Management contribute to this situation and create a chilling effect on editorial freedom and the local community. This conservative hedge fund, with strong ties to the Republican Party, holds controlling stakes in McClatchy, a prominent American publishing company, and owns two-thirds of Postmedia, which now controls the Halifax Chronicle Herald and most Canadian newspapers. I hope the election outcomes in both the US and Canada, with Democrats and Liberals, will ensure they pay a high price for their actions.
