Seen lots of debates about CP in year 1. We have been experimenting with this in yr1&2 for the last 8years in my school. A few years ago I shared this document briefly explaining how. If anyone didn’t see it and would like it sending over, please let me know. 😊

@MissB286 Try doing the Grow with Jo walking workouts. You can do them at home and because they’re walking workouts, they’re really easy to get into when starting exercising. I’ve been fitting in a 20 minute one on a morning and I feel so much better for it. 😊

Going to have to change my username as I’m back in Year 1 from September. Gutted to be leaving EYFS, but hopefully I’ll be able to bring some of the early years magic into Year 1 ☺️

@MrMcofficial86 I found CBT helped loads. I’m about to head back to therapy because sometimes coping mechanisms slip and talking it through helps remind me. Also working through Fearne Cottons’ book series helps lots ☺️

@MissD_EYFS Or you could also do some sort of meditation with some calming music on in the background and use things like bubbles to blow around the room whilst they’re all lying down on comfy cushions, blankets etc! Just set the tone really calm and relaxed for about 5-10 mins!

1.For a young child, just sitting still for a prolonged period of time can cause quite a lot of cognitive load. We probably don't realise this as adults, because we've developed core strength and proprioception but if you imagine being asked to listen to something new for an hour
